This Thursday, March 10th, the Geezers hiked the Foresthill Divide Loop in the Auburn Ravine area. The hike was a little over 10 miles long (depending who you ask) and we rated it as moderate. We had 12 Geezers hiking and although the sun was behind heavy cloud, it was warm and the trail was reatively dry as we left the trailhead at 8:45am. We made our planned lunch stop at noon, just in in time to welcome pouring rain. Dripping wet sandwiches were quite the delight! It rained continuously for the next 2 1/2 hours as we made our way along river-like trails (see photos) back to our starting point. We were ever so glad to see the cars and the prospect of hot coffee and tea waiting for us at McDonalds. This would make a lovely spring hike as the flowers are just starting to show.
