Nov 17, 2011 - Shadow Lake

This weeks Geezers hike was to Shadow Lake in the Crystal Basin Area- south of Loon Lake (about 25 miles north of Hwy 50). The planned hike was for about 10 miles in length. The actual climb to ne around 800 feet. The hike started near the Van Vleck Bunkhouse and use the Loon Lake/Highland/Shadow Lake trails. As there was over a foot of snow on trail, the guys stopped and turned around at the 7000' level. The walking was pretty rough as the pictures portray. This was probably the last Geezer hike for the next couple of weeks due to Thanksgiving and the Bethlehem Village set up at the church.
