August 3, 2012 - Mount Juda & Donna Lake Overlook

The blogger's back! This weeks hike was to Donner Peak and Mt Judah which is just off I-80 at the old Donner summit. We had six Geezers,Loren, Roland, Larry, Sherm, Rod and  Glenn. One or two of us had not hiked for some time so, with the heat and elevation over 8200', the six mile round round trip hike proved to be quite challenging. At least we beat the valley heat! We would normally rate this hike as a moderate-plus. Foster Freeze ice cream and milk shakes were our usual delight at the end of a good day out together.
