July 1, 2010 - Bassi Falls

Geezer outing this week was to Bassi Falls and a hike to Robb's Peak (an old fire lookout station). Both are in the Crystal Basin area (near Union Valley Reservoir). The hike to Bassi Falls was an easy 20 minute hike with time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the falls and the fast running river and the many pools. The hike to the top of the falls was a moderately-strenuous 10 minute hike-climb. At the conclusion of the falls hike the gang travelled north on Ice House Road a couple of miles to the trailhead to Robb's Peak and hiked about 2 miles (and about 1000' of climb) to the old fire lookout. A great day for all who participated.
