May 20, 2010 - Stevens Trail

This weeks hike was to Stevens Trail in Colfax. It goes roughly from an I-80 frontage road down the American River and return- about 7 miles round trip. It descended around 1100' to the river- that meant ascending 1100' to return to the trailhead at the end of the hike. Plenty of water was needed for this hike as there was little shade. There was an old mine shaft to look at. A great day for all!
